Quick Fishing Rods and Reels Tips
Here are some simple fishing rods and reels tips that I like to share with you and I hope you might find them helpful. They are collected through my years fishing. And here we go: 1.Buy rods and reels from established brand name – for quality and reliability they are superb. Of course they may cost more but you pay for what its worth. 2.When selecting and buying rods, look for those with more line guides – rods perform better with more guides keeping the line away from the rod blank especially when you are dealing with a strong and hard-fighting fish. . 3.Make sure that the line guides line up with each other so that when line is cast or retrieve it will flow through them freely. 4.Never buy a fishing rod without putting a reel on it to feel its balance and weight because together it must be comfortable to hold – for a long periods of time fishing. 5.Place your rods in your vehicle carefully. They can break easily especially the rod tip. Avoid placing heavy items above them; hidden damage will fail you later. 6.Most combo-fishing rod and reel outfits are toys for children -- not suitable for serious fishing. 7.When buying a reel for saltwater fishing made sure that it is corrosion-free to withstand the rough environment of the seas. 8.Rinse your fishing rods and reels with fresh water each time after a saltwater fishing trip to prevent corrosion. 9.Loosen the drag of the reel when you finished fishing. 10.Never keep fully spooled reels and rods in the vehicle for long periods of time. Line will weaken, epoxy used to fasten the rod guides will harden and may also damage the rods and reels – all due to heat. 11.Reels must be well serviced and lubricated with fishing reel grease after much use. 12.Avoid dropping your reels -- the mechanical parts inside can be already damaged and you might find yourself in trouble later when in the middle of fighting a large fish. _ These fishing rods and reels tips above are carefully selected and specially written for you to read and avoid. These are simple things which anglers always tend to overlook for which I am one of them. Hope you find them useful. |
