Baked Fish Recipes ~ Quick and Tasty
Most baked fish recipes are often quick-and-easy to make. This popular way of cooking method is good for dealing with large fillets, steaks of fish or whole fish. The beauty of any baked fish recipe is that almost any kind of fish can be baked. Fish is usually baked in an oven preheated to 180C – 200C/350F – 400C/Gas Mk 4-6. As fish and seafood cook quickly you must be careful not to overcook the fish – keep a close watch and remove fish from the oven immediately when fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Here are 2 quick and tasty baked fish recipes that I like to share with you. They are both satisfying and delicious. Baked Whole Fish with Tomatoes Ingredients 1 sea bream (can be any other white firm fish) about 500-600g, scaled and gutted Salt and pepper to taste 3 tomatoes, quartered 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 tbsp ginger root, finely chopped 2 tbsp olive oil Few sprigs of fresh parsley for garnishing Methods 1. Preheat oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mk 6. 2. Season the fish with salt and pepper with the oil added in, and then place it in the baking dish. 3. Scatter the tomatoes, garlic and ginger all over the fish, place some inside the fish. 4. Bake the fish for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through and the flesh flakes when tested with a fork. Garnish with parsley and serve. Baked Fish Fillets in Foil Parcels Ingredients 4 fish fillets, about 170g each (sea bass, flounder, sole, tilapia, red snapper or any others) 30g fresh ginger root, shredded 2 large green onions, thinly shredded 3 cloves garlic, chopped Seasoning 2 tbsp light soya sauce 2 tsp sesame oil 2 tbsp vegetable oil Salt and pepper to taste Garnish A bunch of chopped fresh parsley and some chili curls Methods 1. Preheat oven to 180C/350F/Gas Mk 4, and prepare 4 pieces of foil, each large enough to enclose 1 piece of fish fillet. Place each fillet in the centre of each of the prepared foil, and make sure to oil the side where you are placing the fish. 2. In a bowl, combine all seasonings together. Fold up the sides of the foil parcels. Divide 1 quarter of the mixture and ingredients over each fish, and then seal up the foil parcels tightly. 3. Place the foil parcels nicely spread on a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes. Garnish and serve!
